Rachael Collinsworth is a 2005 graduate of Northgate High School where she participated extensively in the Marching Band, Concert Band, Color Guard and Winter Guard programs.
Ms. Collinsworth went on to receive her Bachelor of Arts Degree in History from the University of West Georgia. While at UWG Ms. Collinsworth played contrabass clarinet in the University’s top wind ensemble and marched in the “Sound that Lights the South” color guard, serving as Captain in 2006. From 2007 – 2010 Ms. Collinsworth continued her participation in the color guard activity marching with Corpsvets Drum and Bugle Corps, Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps, Northgate Independent Winter Guard and Carolina Crown Winter Guard.
In 2006, Ms. Collinsworth began her coaching career. Over the last six years she has instructed many schools in both Carroll and Coweta counties including Temple High School, Carrollton High School, Villa Rica High School, Northgate High School, and East Coweta High School. The 2011 – 2012 season will mark Ms. Collinsworth’s third year working with the Newnan High School Marching Cats. Since she joined the Marching Cats Staff in 2009, the color guard has received Superior ratings at every competition, also capturing three overall third place awards and one overall first place award.
Ms. Collinsworth is currently seeking her Master’s of Arts in Teaching Degree at LaGrange College. She is looking forward to another exciting year working with the amazingly talented girls in the Newnan color guard. Go Cougars!
