Josh Tate

Josh Tate (yes, another Josh, but you can call him Tater if you want) is currently in his fifth year of teaching music at Elm Street Elementary.  Josh teaches general music to kindergarten through 5th grade students.  He is the director of two choral groups, directs the 4th and 5th grade musicals, and assists the marching band at Newnan High.

A former low brass member and Drum Major, Josh graduated from Newnan High School and went on to Columbus State University where he received his Bachelor’s in Music Education Degree in 2007.  While at Columbus State, he was able to perform with numerous world class artists including YoYo Ma and Joe Alessi.  He performed and recorded with the Columbus State University Wind Ensemble that was nominated for several Grammy Awards.

Josh and his wife, Lilith, met through the Newnan High Marching Band, and will always owe them a debt of gratitude.  They currently live in Henry County where Lilith teaches Pre-Kindergarten.  Josh really enjoys rooting on the Atlanta Braves and spending time in the yard.
