The Band BBQ & Preview Show is a time-honored tradition at Newnan High School. Teachers, the business community, and surrounding neighbors look forward to this annual event and are usually eager to support band students offering them a ticket for sale. The BBQ is held in the Main Cafeteria while the regular Tuesday night band practice is held. Eat in and carry out plates are available. Serving stops at 7:00 p.m. and everything is cleaned up so that we can move out to the field to watch the Preview Show at 7:30 p.m.
Here’s how you can help:
- Pre-sell tickets August 2 – 17. Tickets forms will be distributed to band students and parents at the August 2nd band practice. (BBQ tickets are ‘pre-ordered’ and ‘paid in advance’ similar to other catalog sales. Actual BBQ tickets may be picked up from Lisa Colomb in the 100 Office (main building) upon return of Ticket Form and receipt of payment.
Additional Ticket Sales Forms may be downloaded here! - Help plan/coordinate prior to BBQ date: Sign up at the August 2nd Band Booster meeting. We will need volunteers to:
Pick up some food items and/or paper goods prior to event.
Donate baked goods for the dessert sale.
Solicit donations of baked goods from one or two local businesses. - Day of BBQ:
4:00 p.m. – Help set up Main Cafeteria.
5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
2 Ticket Takers
1 Plate Delivery person
6 – 8 Food Servers
2 Drink Servers
1 Dessert Sales person
2- 3 Table Clean up during meal
7:00 – 7:30 p.m. – Everyone helps CLEAN UP and move out to field for Preview Show.
NOTE: Students will have regular practice while the BBQ is in progress. If desired, parents may purchase and pick up a to-go plate for them to have after the Preview Show.
